Looking for more information about a presentation you saw last year? Searching for ideas while planning for a major speaker?<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to present &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradocollege.edu\/other\/speakers-scholars-events\/\">Speakers, Scholars, and Events<\/a>,&#8221; a new web resource that aims to meet those needs. With the Block Plan\u2019s rapid pace, sometimes you don\u2019t hear about an outstanding speaker until she\u2019s already gone. The new web resource aims to keep the campus community better informed, and features a selection of the many amazing visitors who interact with the campus community each block.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradocollege.edu\/other\/speakers-scholars-events\/\">Speakers, Scholars, and Events<\/a>&#8221; is the result of CC\u2019s first Tiger Pen, which convened this summer to solve a problem selected by campus community vote: <i>With so many events happening and the pace of the Block Plan, we often miss some of our amazing visitors entirely, or aren\u2019t able to connect with them as much as we\u2019d like.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The web resource aims to solve this problem by providing a new lens through which to view CC speakers. The web resource:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enables the CC community to better anticipate upcoming academic events and prevents scheduling conflicts<\/li>\n<li>Presents information well in advance of speakers\u2019 visits<\/li>\n<li>Keeps a record of past events including additional information after the event is complete<\/li>\n<li>Enhances the new CC Events Management system by providing more depth and breadth of information and highlighting major events appearing on the campus calendar<\/li>\n<li>Showcases how endowed funds are used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradocollege.edu\/other\/the-center\/the-tiger-pen.dot\">The Tiger Pen<\/a> is a focused way to solve problems and\/or implement new ideas directly related to CC\u2019s academic mission and the format means a different team of experts is selected for each project.<\/p>\n<p>The Tiger Pen concept was 1 of 10 innovative pilot projects funded by the Center for Immersive Learning and Engaged Teaching Action team.<\/p>\n<p>First Tiger Pen Team Members:<\/p>\n<p>Caitlin Apigian<\/p>\n<p>Bethany Grubbs<\/p>\n<p>Mark Lee<\/p>\n<p>Tomi-Ann Roberts<\/p>\n<p>Chad Schonewill<\/p>\n<p>Jenn Sides<\/p>\n<p>Christine Smith-Siddoway<\/p>\n<p>Brenda Soto<\/p>\n<p>Kris Stanec<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Wurtz<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Message on behalf of CC\u2019s first Tiger Pen team: Wondering what major speakers are coming to campus next semester?
