CC is charging ahead with a new on-campus electric vehicle charging station, courtesy of Jim Burness ’90. Burness, the CEO of National Car Charging, arranged for the donation of the charging station from ChargePoint, the nation’s largest electric vehicle charging network.

The new EV charging station is located at 830 N. Nevada Ave., in the parking lot on the southwest corner of Nevada Avenue and Cache La Poudre Street (across the street from Slocum Hall), making it easily accessible to Colorado College and the greater Colorado Springs communities, and helping to expand the electric vehicle infrastructure in Colorado.

CC’s Sustainability Council allocated $2,500 for the installation cost. The funds came from the 2012 Campus Annual Sustainability Projects Program, aimed at funding innovative and measurable initiatives that advance the college’s sustainability plan.
