#HIRED: Quinn Husney ‘18

After graduation, Quinn will begin work as the Psychology and Neuroscience Paraprofessional here at CC.

Science did not always come easily to me; in fact, I really struggled at the beginning. I considered quitting and pursuing something less challenging and also less “me.” Luckily though, I had mentors who REALLY believed in me, and believed in me so hard that I started to believe in me too. I’m thrilled that I will have the chance to be that same sort of mentor for someone else, cultivating students’ tenacity and confidence just as my mentors did for me.

My advice for students searching for employment: Trust the process. Your classes have prepared you to be a successful human and you will be one. The path to that success, however, is rarely as straight as anticipated; in fact, it is full of detours and obstacles and quicksand pits. Sometimes that success looks different than the success you set out to find and that is okay too. Stay the course and have a little faith in yourself and the right job will come to you.

Congratulations, Quinn!
