Are you writing a thesis? Do you need help? Enroll in THESIS WRITING: GET IT DONE<\/strong>, and breathe easy. This GS399 course is a Block 1 & 2 Adjunct<\/strong> that will meet Tuesdays, from 2-4 pm in Tutt Library, Room 238<\/strong>. Our first class is September 5th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this class we will work together to move from your first fascinations and vaguest inquiries to the bang-up best essay you\u2019ve ever written. Along the way you\u2019ll learn how to better parse and make arguments; find, evaluate, and synthesize sources; how to devise and sustain a rigorous work practice; how to write paragraphs and essays that sing; how to find the perfect form for each writerly function; and how to attend. We\u2019ll share each other\u2019s trouble, and find its many remedies.<\/p>\n

About the instructor: Mary Margaret Alvarado<\/strong> is CC\u2019s new thesis specialist. She is the author of Hey Folly<\/em> (Dos Madres), a book of poems, and her nonfiction has been published widely, most recently in VQR<\/em>, The Kenyon Review<\/em>, Outside,\u00a0<\/em>and The Rumpus<\/em>. She was trained in research\u00a0while working at\u00a0Harper’s<\/em>\u00a0magazine and earned her MFA from the University of Iowa, where she was an Iowa Arts Fellow and Provost\u2019s Post-Graduate Writing Fellow. She was the 2010-11 Romaine Coombe writer-in-residence at Cincinnati\u2019s Seven Hills School and worked most recently as a senior instructor in creative writing and rhetoric at UCCS.
