The date when coaches, staff and other workers may move into the new addition of classrooms and offices at the El Pomar Sports Center will be delayed 10-21 days because of a building permit issue with the city. The original date of July 15 was scrapped in favor of July 31 a few weeks ago and now bumped to mid-August.

The problem is that the original El Pomar Sports Center was given an incorrect classification and that was reflected on the issued building permit. With the higher standards required under the correct classification with a new permit, additional  equipment — four dampers –  must be installed before the addition can be occupied by people.

The contractor was notified of the problem late last week.The furniture move-in remains scheduled for July 23.
