“Rights and Responsibilities in History”

What is History Day?

All Middle and High School age students (grades 6-8 & 9-12) are invited to “DO” History by preparing a research paper, a multimedia documentary, a web site, a dramatic performance or an imaginative exhibit on a topic of their own choosing.

Projects will be judged on research, primary sources, historical accuracy, presentation of thesis and argument and on how well they relate to the national theme.

 

Important Dates

February 3 – 28, 2014: Colorado Springs Regional On-line registration

March 28, 2014: All REGISTRATION CORRECTIONS AND FEE PAYMENTS ARE DUE

March 7, 2014:  Paper Entries Due

Turn in four copies of your Paper Entry to:

March 7, 2014: Web Site Entries Published 

(Please note that entries in these two categories must be completed and turned in BEFORE the regional competition. Judges need extra time to evaluate these categories and will finish judging during the three weeks before the regional contest.)

Regional Contest: April 4 & 5, 2014
Colorado State Contest: May 3, 2014
NHD National Contest: June 15-19, 2014
