My name is Emma Zareen Brachtenbach. Emma for universal and healing… and Terms of Endearment. Zareen for my mothers’ first midwife. And Brachtenbach for my family roots: tiller of the soil near the brook. I was raised at the base of mountains in the home my mama gave birth to me in Manitou Springs, CO. I am part of a family with two mamas, one sister, one dog, and three feline beasts. I am the daughter of many mothers. I hike. I climb. I enjoy the outdoors. Often. My spirit animal is a black bear… my mama encountered one while walking our neighborhood the morning I was born. I love cooking with my family especially during the cold months.
I plan to be an Environmental Science major with an emphasis in agriculture… if that’s even possible.
