The importance of rigor and teaching the habits of mind

There is a very good article, “Habits of Mind: Lessons for the Long Term“, in today’s Chronicle of Higher Education about the importance of building skills and intellectual virtues as well as teaching facts or content. It is a good articulation of what liberal arts faculty, CC faculty, do every day in the classroom. Fascinating that the term “liberal arts” isn’t mentioned.
