CC students track Waldo Canyon fire clean up

Four Colorado College students – Erica Sarro, Andrew Allen-Fahlander, Dylan Sondermann, and Edward Crawford – are tracking the progress of the Waldo Fire clean up in the Mountain Shadows and Parkside communities.

The team has created an interactive map, which is available on the Colorado Springs Together website, that shows property photos and the status of each home site that was destroyed in the Waldo Canyon fire.

This information will be used by various City and County agencies, citizens, and community organizations to track the progress of restoration.

Thanks to Jessica Giles Copeland, Director of CC’s Collaborative for Community Engagement, and Bob Croft at El Paso County Regional Building for helping our students with this project!

Bob Croft happens to also be a CC alum and big project supporter. Thanks too to Barry Baum and Bob Cutter at Colorado Springs Together.
