Inside Higher Ed has an interesting article in today’s issue, Liberal Arts Go Dutch, about the growth of liberal arts colleges in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands. While many are wondering about the relevance of the liberal arts in the US, Europeans are recognizing that a liberal education is incredibly valuable in today’s changing world. “There has been a growing emphasis throughout Europe on the desirability of broad-based bachelor programs, with specialization to begin at the master’s level.”
