First Mondays – Vincent Stanley from Patagonia
We opened Block 6 at CC with Vincent Stanley, Acting VP of Marketing and editor of the Footprint Chronicles of Patagonia Company, speaking at First Mondays. Patagonia is a leader in evaluation and remediation of the social and environmental impacts of its business practices. These efforts resulted in FastCompany magazine ranking Patagonia #14 on their 2012 list of the world’s 50 most innovative companies.
Mr. Stanley talked about the Patagonia company’s vision for responsible business highlighted in a recent book that he co-authored with Patagonia’s owner and founder Yvon Chouinard, The Responsible Company: What we’ve learned from Patagonia’s first 40 years.”
CC Professors Christine Siddoway and Maroula Khraiche and the entire Academic Events Committee deserve thanks for their wonderful work in organizing our First Mondays program over the past year. This program is a big success and I thank the committee as well as our entire community for making First Mondays a new tradition at Colorado College. I also want to thank the State of the Rockies Project, specifically Walt Hecox and Brendan Boepple, for their role in organizing Vincent Stanley’s visit.
