Renovated Slocum Hall ready for students

The Student Life Division announced yesterday that the renovations to Slocum Hall (originally built in 1953) have been completed on time for the start of the 2013-14 academic year.  From a new open floor plan in the lounge area and improvements in the outdoor space to greater numbers of wireless access points and features that increase energy efficiency, these renovations have created spaces that are more comfortable and useful for study and socializing and reflect our commitment to sustainability.  I hope that you will enjoy this video tour of the improvements.
I am grateful to VP for Student Life Mike Edmonds and his staff, Chris Coulter and his staff in Facilities and Information Technology Services staff for all that they did to complete this beautiful renovation. I also thank our colleagues in Sodexho who helped get the building ready for students and the students who lived in Slocum last year for their patience and understanding as we started some of the renovations last spring.

Wow – I lived in Slocum as a student from 1999-2002, and I just walked over to take a look at it. The video tour doesn’t do it justice, the changes are amazing!

Jeez… I’m so jealous of CC students these days… =)
