Senior Art Majors Visit New York City

As part of the department’s required Senior Seminar, CC’s senior art majors and professors recently ventured to New York City. Considered an integral part of an art major’s capstone experience, the New York trip has been occurring annually since 1986 thanks to a gift from the Getty Trust to the Colorado College Art Department in honor of Harold E. Berg, class of 1936. The Berg Endowment completely covers the annual trip to NYC, allowing students the opportunity to experience museums, galleries, and artists’ studios in the Big Apple. In recognition of the Getty Trust’s generosity, the Art Department expects “all participants in the New York trip to see themselves as stewards of the Berg Endowment and invested participants in this larger historic legacy.” Thanks to the Art Department faculty who regularly organize this wonderful field study experience for our students!
