Block 1 FOOT Trips

Every Block 1 block break since 1984, CC’s Outdoor Recreation Committee has sponsored the First-Year Outdoor Orientation Trips, known across campus as FOOT trips.  This year, we sponsored 17 trips across Colorado and Utah. Over 160 students took part in one of the four-day backpacking, camping, rafting or climbing adventures.

With a small group of randomly-assigned students, FOOT trips are an opportunity for first-years to learn essential backcountry skills while getting out into the beauty of our region. Led by well-trained sophomores, juniors and seniors, the program provides opportunities to meet new people and bond as a group.

Sophomore Noah Brodsky’s photos are from the FOOT trip to Eagle County, Colorado, where students had the opportunity to climb the fourteener Mount of the Holy Cross.
