The Lowdown: the two-day/-night event will spotlight some of the nation’s best underground electronic acts and some of Colorado’s best local acts alongside one another. The 30+ artists featured run the genre gamut from ambient (the bristling and warm Quiet Evenings), to drone (The Kevin Costner Suicide Pact), to dreampop (Candy Claws, HAPPY NEW YEAR), to ambient folk (Chris Rehm), with some post-nineties shoegaze (Colorado Springs’ Junior Low) thrown in to round things out. Tennis, of Llamapalooza 2011 fame, and How to Dress Well headline the festival.
The Site: GOLDRUSH 2011 (featuring links to each band’s Bandcamp or Myspace, as well as contact info)
The Sampler: GOLDRUSH Sampler (a FREE compilation of brand new tracks from 20 of the festival’s performers)
The Tickets: Hi-Dive.com
The Sponsors: Speaker Snacks, Tome to the Weather Machine, Magic Teepee
