State of the Rockies presents an evening with Luis Benitez
Luis Benitez: Innovation in the Outdoor Recreation Industry
As the Director of Colorado’ Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry, Mr. Benitez leads a flourishing outdoor industry; one that has grown to such great heights that it recently earned its place in the calculus of our national gross domestic product. This industry is bigger than just sales of skis and backpacks however. A revolution is taking place, one in which Benitez seeks to transform the outdoor industry into a powerful force for development, conservation, education and wellness. Transforming the industry is no small task. In today’s rapidly changing landscape, where the outdoor recreation industry is driving everything from regional economies to national policies, how do you continue to build and foster a spirit of innovation?
Monday March 5 @ 7pm, Gaylord Hall, Worner Campus Center.

This is a friendly reminder that all supervisors of student employees are to submit new job descriptions to the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment on an annual basis. These job description records are beneficial to both the student and supervisor by providing clear and updated responsibilities. Without the submission of accurate and updated job descriptions, our office is unable to process student employee referral forms. Supervisors may access the job description template on the student employment website or by using the link below. If you should have any questions please contact Kristen Clinton, Student Employment and Communications Manager, at ext. 6908.

Wednesday, March 14th, 12-2 p.m.
This is a two-hour lunch-time session geared for both faculty and staff. In the first hour CC grants professionals Tess Powers, Ina Remus and Laura Hines will describe their respective roles on campus and how they serve as resources for the CC community. They will highlight some of the ways the CC community continues to benefit from grants awarded years ago as well as share information on some of CC’s most recent grants. The first hour will conclude with a “Top 10”-style countdown of some of the more common myths of the grants world. In the second hour, attendees will be invited to break into smaller groups to discuss projects/ideas/collaborations that might be suitable for an external grant; this is an opportunity to start brainstorming both for individual projects as well as for possible institutional efforts. Attendees will then spend some time exploring the College’s grants database, Pivot. Anyone with a general interest in grants is welcome – there no expectation that you will apply for a grant as a result of this session.
