Craft Seminar: Zach Wolfson ’07, “Embracing the Entrepreneurial Adventure: Exploring Filmmaking Careers Outside Hollywood”

Wednesday, April 25th
Cornerstone, Studio B
12:30-2:30pm

This event is not open to the general public. Lunch provided – first come, first served!

Zach Wolfson (English/Film track ’07) is a filmmaker and entrepreneur based in Denver who has worked for over 10 years with both large and small brands – from local artists to Sony to the State of Colorado. In this nuts-and-bolts craft seminar, Zach will share how he’s navigated the freelance video production landscape. Learn what pitfalls to avoid and explore creative possibilities that will let you stay where you love doing what you love, such as starting a web series, freelancing for clients, and running a small business. Let’s chat about the exciting, scary, and rewarding parts of striking out on your own and making work you care about.

This series is generously co-sponsored by the Cultural Attractions Fund and the Office of the Dean. Unless otherwise specified, all events are free and open to the public.

After faculty in your department identify students they will be researching with this summer, please work with them and take a moment to fill out the Summer Research Payment Form (found at the bottom of this SCoRe web page- www.coloradocollege.edu/offices/dean/students/research-opportunities/for-faculty-and-staff/initiate-funds-dispersal.html). The form will request specific information to ensure students receive their payments correctly and in a timely manner. Filling in the set-up form should be all you need to do to set up the student’s pay. After we receive the information, we will confirm the payment arrangement and finalize payments. Students will have funds dispersed via direct deposit (if set up with the college) or checks will be sent to their Worner boxes. Students will be paid on the Friday of the week they start their research. Please direct any questions to Lisa Schwartz (lschwartz@coloradocollege or 719-389-6685).
