Got Rave?
With YOUR safety at the top of our mind, Colorado College Campus Safety is launching Guardian, a free mobile app that turns your smartphone into a personal safety device and campus resource center.

By downloading the app on your mobile phone, you’ll have access to safety features that directly connect you to campus safety (or 9-1-1 if off-campus) in an emergency situation, as well as the ability to submit anonymous tips should you see something
suspicious.

You can invite friends and family to join your network as your “Guardians.” You can then request one or more of your Guardians to virtually walk with you on or off campus. It’s like having an emergency blue light system and a trusted friend with you at all times.

The Rave Guardian app features campus resources you need most, including a campus call directory with CC contact information as well as a campus content hub.

On behalf of Colorado College Campus Safety, all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to enhance their personal safety and the safety of their friends by downloading the free app. Simply search “Rave Guardian” in the app store on your mobile device.
The app and additional information is available on the Colorado College Campus Safety webpage under emergency preparedness. www.coloradocollege.edu/dotAsset/f599cbc5-ec8d-4e2f-a0c4-71294ce0183a.pdf

Everyone signed up for Rave Guardian will be entered for a drawing to win a $100 ITunes Gift Card.

If you are interested in learning more about refugee resettlement support, cultural welcoming and mentoring teams, and efforts around sanctuary and our undocumented neighbors in the Springs, come join the CC Refugee Alliance! This club is open to students, staff, and faculty.

We’ll be meeting the second Tuesday of every block this year at lunch in Sacred Grounds, in the basement of Shove Chapel. Our kickoff meeting is next Tuesday, Sept 4, and lunch will be provided (Pita Pit). This meeting will update folks on current refugee resettlement numbers, the results of the recent Colorado Economic Impact survey completed on refugees (what they cost & contribute back), as well as all the opportunities to get involved this year. Please join us!

If you’d like to be kept up-to-date this year with the CC Refugee Alliance, please add your info to this Google doc, accessible with any Gmail/Google account. Email me (Heather Powell Browne) with any questions!
