Digital Liberal Arts Collective @ CC

What are the Digital Liberal Arts (DLA) and what faculty, staff and student collaborations have been fostered in recent years under this initiative? Come to the Block 3 Faculty Research Luncheon to learn about ongoing projects and possibilities for the future. You’ll hear from History faculty, Dr. Tip Ragan and Dr. Jane Murphy, Academic Applications Specialist, Dr. Jennifer Golightly, and CC student Darryl Filmore ’20. Collaboration via the DLA at CC has expanded from faculty research projects on which students and staff worked, to entire courses and to class-based projects, making pedagogical use of the DLA most popular over the past year. Our presentation will showcase a few DLA projects and the digital tools used to build them and discussion about some of the ways DLA tools are used in the classroom at CC. You can see some of the projects highlighted on the DLA @ CC website here: sites.coloradocollege.edu/dlaatcc

Doors open – 11:45am
Talk begins – 12:15pm
Event concludes – 1:15pm

A Thanksgiving theme lunch will be served family style.

Important Information for Supervisors of International Student Employees

As an employer, host and sponsor of international students and exchange visitors, Colorado College has a responsibility to abide by U.S. government regulations to protect our students and CC as an institution. Due to the importance of these strict government regulations, please remember these vital rules as a supervisor of an international student employee.

1) International students cannot work until they have completed the student employment paperwork.
2) International students cannot work on campus more than 20 hours in a week (Sunday-Saturday). This includes hours worked from all jobs combined.
3) Do not provide immigration information or guidance to international students. International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is the department dedicated to helping international students follow these immigration regulations. ISSS is part of the Center for Global Education & Field Study.
4) Do not allow international students to work over their 20-hour limit. The student could lose their immigration status as a result.

Please remember that although we are able to provide such opportunities to our international students there are federal immigration regulations, which go hand in hand with these opportunities. Please support ISSS and the Student Employment Office in protecting our students by following these regulations.

For any questions, please contact the Student Employment Office or International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) in the Center for Global Education & Field Study.
