The campus mailing address for faculty and staff is still 14 E. Cache La Poudre. You should use this address for mail and packages.
If you order something that is extremely heavy, large or bulky it will be delivered as freight. In these cases, you need to use the 14 E. Cache La Poudre address for billing and specify that the shipment be delivered to 234 W. San Miguel St.
What is Freight?
. Freight will come on its own semi-truck and will require a forklift and or lift gate to unload. If you can’t imagine one person carrying the item into your department, it will probably be freight. Examples include full-size refrigerators, large furniture such as a couch, 200-pounds of gym equipment.
. When you order something that will come as freight, the shipper will usually tell you.

If you have any questions, please contact April Scriven in Mail Services, (719)389-6427

New Tools for Improving Access to Community Water Quality: Development of Economic Sensors and the Fountain Valley Water Project

How do you know when your water is safe to drink? A quarter of the world’s population is without access to sanitary water, in large part due to a lack of cheap and accessible testing technologies. This talk will highlight our efforts to design and build the world’s first simple, cheap, and truly open-source sensors for measuring heavy metals like lead in water. In our own backyard, a community of 70,000 people have been exposed to harmful levels of toxic firefighting foam in their drinking water. I will finish by describing the Fountain Valley Water Project (501c3), a large-scale citizen science initiative aimed at monitoring the spread of contamination and educating the community about its scientific, health, and legal ramifications.
