CC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host a Parents Night Out in the El Pomar Sports Center from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. Enjoy a night out/in or take care of some holiday shopping while the kids have their own fun playing games (board games, gym games, pizza and a movie) with the CC Tigers!

Ages 3 and up (must be potty trained). $30 for the first child, $15 for each additional child. Receive $5 off for bringing in 1 canned food item.  Limit 1 canned food item per child.

Wooglin’s will be temporarily closing on Friday, Nov. 15 for construction to begin on the arena. To celebrate their 30th birthday and last day in this space, we invite you to come through on Friday to enjoy the ambiance, say hi to the staff, snap a selfie, sign the walls, jam to 80s tunes, and play board games.

Wooglin’s and the Division of Student Life will be providing anyone with a CC ID*:
– free coffee & a muffin, 7 am – 11 am/while supplies last
– free coffee & a cookie; 11:30 am – close/while supplies last

Lunch with staff council will be Thursday, November 14th from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Please RSVP for a spot at the table to speak with your representatives face to face. Lunch will be hosted by Michael McNamee of the Advancement offices and Jane Byrnes of Student Life. Free lunch is limited to the first 10 who RSVP so send your response in soon! We will read Split Tooth by Tanya Taqag. Please email Victoria Levine by Nov. 21 if you would like to attend and a book will be delivered to your office. This novel was shortlisted for the 2018 Kobo Emerging Writer Prize, the 2019 Amazon First Novel Award, and won the 2019 Alcuin Society Award for Excellence in Book Design. Reviewers wrote, “Tagaq’s surreal meld of poetry and prose transmutes the Arctic’s boundless beauty, intensity, and desolation into a wrenching contemporary mythology” (The New Yorker). Tagaq, who is Inuk, is an improvisational performer, avant-garde composer, and experimental recording artist; she won the 2014 Polaris Music Prize, among many other honors and awards. She will return to CC in January, 2020 as part of Cornerstone Arts Week, reading from Split Tooth on January 30 and performing Retribution with her band on January 31.
