Join our first Chinese scholar Mr. Tao Liu’s Anthropology Talk “The Rise and Fall of Civil Society in Contemporary China” on April 4 @5:30pm in WCC WES room. This speech examines the history of NGOs in contemporary China and argues that ‘civil society’ is a narrative and interpretation that shape and mobilize the movement of NGOs in China.

Mac Legerton’s talk on “Pipelines and Prejudice: from Dakota Access to Atlantic Coast Pipeline – from Fossil Fuels to Renewables” on Monday, April 3 at 6:30pm in Worner Center WES Room! Legerton comes to us directly from co-organizing the 15-day “Walk to Protect our People and Places We Live” in protest of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. He’s a long-time teacher and organizer for social and environmental justice and indigenous rights. All are welcome.
