Colorado College will host a town hall and forum with candidates for statewide and local office on Saturday, September 2nd from 5:30 – 10pm in Armstrong Hall. This event brings together more than a dozen candidates, giving voters a rare chance to see the people running for all of the state’s top offices in one place. Members of the public and CC students are invited to meet and greet with candidates from 5:30 – 6:30pm then participate a forum and audience Q&A event for each group of candidates. Prepared questions cover topics such as public lands, gas extraction, TABOR, education, affordable housing, rural economic development and renewable energy.

It’s time to begin getting your Intramural teams together! We have four sports beginning in Block 2.

The usual Indoor Volleyball, Flag Football, and Outdoor Soccer will begin this next block, but we have also moved Inner Tube Water Polo to take place during Block 2 as well!

Rosters are due, via the Intramural website, Friday, September 15, for all four sports. Remember you must submit a team roster for each sport you wish to participate in.

Enjoy a reception for Emma Powell’s exhibition “Svala’s Saga” in Deco Lounge and celebrate the exhibition “Raizes/Roots: Transformations in Contemporary Brazilian Art”curated for the FAC Museum by Naomi Wood and Mitra Ghaffari. The evening features Brazilian music in Deco Lounge, a tour of “Raizes/Root”, and a performance by acclaimed Brazilian musician and singer, Michele Castro. Free and open to the public.

Committee members are responsible for planning Llamapalooza, which includes booking artists, marketing the event, and creating new festival experiences for everyone. State of the State is a Candidates and Activists Forum with local and state-wide candidates for the 2018 mid-term election featuring the candidates themselves discussing the political topics that will define the politics of Colorado for the next several years. Tomorrow, Saturday, September 2nd, head to Armstrong Hall at 5:30 for a Candidate Meet and Greet and the town hall will start at 6:30 and end at 9:30 p.m.

Free skate night at Honnen Ice Arena TONIGHT, Friday, September 1st, from 10:15 p.m. to midnight! Skates provided at no extra charge, but it is first come first serve. Leave your backpacks at home and only empty water bottles will be allowed in. Head over to Rastall afterwards for an (almost) midnight breakfast from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
