There is still room in this course, a study of women in Hinduism focused on the towering figure of Sītā, still considered the model of ideal femininity in India today. Course materials include the epic Rāmāya�a, contemporary films, and various critical readings that explore what it means to be a woman within the context of Hindu ethics and Indian social structures.
