The CC Music Department offers private lessons on piano, guitar, voice, and all orchestral and band instruments as well as group piano, guitar, and voice classes. Come in and register early for the Fall semester. Registration is open now through the end of Block 8 and will continue through the second week of Block 1. During the summer, your mail and USPS packages will be forwarded to the home address you have on file with the college. If you are remaining on campus or wish your mail to be sent somewhere else for the summer, please stop by the mail room and fill out a summer mail postcard. Packages arriving from UPS and FedEx will be returned to sender, since UPS and FedEx do not forward packages.

PakMail will be on campus to help you with shipping your personal items home. They will be located in Worner Hall on the following dates: May 14th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 15th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 16th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will have boxes and shipping materials on hand for you to purchase. Please note that our contract with PakMail does not allow our mail services team to assist you with mailing home your personal items while they are on campus.

Former CC students and music group Mad Wallace, will be performing in the final round for Denver’s Best of The West competition this Friday the 11th. The competition began in November with 75 local acts and now it’s down to the final 5! A considerable portion of the judging for this final round will be based on attendance,
so for anyone who would like to come out and support the band, this is prime opportunity to do so.

Show Details:
. The competition will be held at Herman’s Hideaway 1578 S Broadway, Denver, CO 80210
. Tickets at the door are $10 dollars if you tell them the password (cold tony) otherwise it’s $15.
. Purchasing tickets online is also $10 and there is a greater chance for securing a ticket that way due to max capacity and showtime rush on the day of.
. Mad Wallace is closing the show at 11:30pm.

SP311 Spanish Theater Workshop BLOCK 1, 2018
Students will study several Spanish language plays, and will produce and perform one play under faculty supervision. Students will become familiar with acting techniques, practice diction and articulation, and will engage in all aspects of the creative process. The course will culminate in staging a play. The course will be co-taught between Prof. Carrie Ruiz and Visiting Artist Susana Torres Romero, who is a director and actor from Soria, Spain. NO prior acting experience necessary.

Through this courses students will:
-work closely with a Spanish artist
-attain a high level of performance in Spanish
-be highly engaged in all aspects of the creative process
-improve all Spanish language competencies, particularly speaking
Pre-requisite: SP 201or equivalent

Im not directing a department production in 18/19 (a longish story!) but…..do want to do some fAIL bETTER productions – thoughts include HAMLET and WASTED (by British spoken word performer/writer Kate Tempest)……..and Id really like to know who would be interested in being involved…….and if you are do please come to a brief meeting THIS FRIDAY at 12.15pm in CORNERSTONE…..it will help my thinking/planning enormously
