Welcome to Arts and Crafts Block 1! Our sign-ups BEGIN on Sunday, August 26th at 5:00 PM at Worner Desk. Our co-curricular program has beginning classes in Clay Wheel-throwing, Stained Glass, Jewelry, Embroidery, Knitting, and Felting offered in Block 1. Watch for more offerings next block! We also have open studio opportunities for students with Colorado College Arts and Crafts class experience. Block classes cost only $10.00 for instruction and supplies. Girls on the Run of the Rockies is looking for volunteer coaches for the fall season! We are a non-profit, after school program that is all about empowering young girls through running. We have teams in Colorado Springs that still need coaches. The season starts on September 10th and goes through the week of Novemver 12th. Teams meet twice a week for 90 minutes. Most teams meet around 3:30pm. You do not need to be a runner to coach, just dedicated to making sure these girls have an awesome experience! American Sign Language, AN123 Adjunct Blocks 1-4,Thursdays, First class-August 30, 2018; 4 – 6 p.m., Barnes Science Center, #407
This adjunct course (one-quarter credit) is an introduction to ASL (American Sign Language) with an emphasis on both expressive and receptive skills. The instructor, Paul Simmons, is a Deaf signer with comprehensive teaching experience. Students will be introduced to Deaf Studies, differences between deaf and hearing worlds, and basic communication techniques. Beginners and more advanced signers are welcome.
