Membership in the CC Choir is open for Fall, 2019! Faculty, students, staff, and members of the community are all welcome. THERE IS NO AUDITION! Rehearsals are Mondays 4:00-5:30 in the Cornerstone Arts Center Flex Room. FIRST REHEARSAL is August 26. This 70-90 voice concert choir presents major concerts with orchestra, in Shove Chapel. Do you play a musical instrument? Have you always wanted to? The CC Music Department offers scholarships for private lessons on piano, guitar, voice, and all orchestral and band instruments as well as group piano, guitar, and voice. Registration is now open and will continue until the end of week 2 of Block 1. New and returning students are invited to come to Packard 116 for more information and to sign up now! The Colorado College Chamber Chorus announces auditions for 2019-2020. This 24-32 -voice select choir performs music in many styles, both a cappella and with instruments. Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 4:00-5:30, plus some additional time for sectionals TBA. Auditions are August 29 and 30 in the afternoon, by appointment. This course is only offered in alternate years. It was inadvertently left out of the 2019-2020 course schedule. This extended format course is open to singers AND instrumentalists and will meet weekly, blocks 1-8, for the 2019-2020 academic year. Topics will include the basics of conducting, baton technique, the philosophy and history of conducting, score analysis, and rehearsal technique.
