Sethi, Tuesday, Aug. 27, 4 p.m. in Celeste Theatre.Join Professors Nadia Guessous and Santiago Guerra as moderators of this conversation. Sethi is a community activist, civil rights lawyer, and writer based in Washington, D.C. He works closely with Muslim, Arab, South Asian, and Sikh communities and is an expert in policing, the war on terror, and racial and religious profiling. His work has appeared in the Guardian, Politico Magazine, BBC World Radio, and his own book “American Hate: Survivors Speak Out. Sponsored by: The Butler Center. This course is only offered in alternate years. It was inadvertently left out of the 2019-2020 course schedule. This extended format course is open to singers AND instrumentalists and will meet weekly, blocks 1-8, for the 2019-2020 academic year. Topics will include the basics of conducting, baton technique, the philosophy and history of conducting, score analysis, and rehearsal technique.

The CC Music Department offers scholarships for private lessons on piano, guitar, voice, and all orchestral and band instruments as well as group piano, guitar, and voice.
