Join the PikeRide staff for a historic tour of the Legacy Loop curated by the staff of the Pioneers Museum. The Legacy Loop is an approximately 10-mile trail, park, and recreation loop around downtown Colorado Springs. This ride will be a wonderful way to connect, create, and protect our community value, inspired by the legacy and vision of Colorado Springs’ founder Gen. William Jackson Palmer. Palmer dreamed of a vibrant, livable city where the essential functions of mobility and access are linked to our parks, open space and trails. On this ride, you will learn about local landmarks from the all-new seat of an electric-assist bike. No membership is required for this tour. We will be meeting at 3:30pm on the South side of Worner, and helmets are strongly encouraged! David Cole, the National Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union, is coming to CC this Tuesday to discuss “Defending Liberty in Perilous Times: Why Courts Can’t Do It Alone, and What That Means for the Rest of Us.” The lecture will be at 7:00 PM in Kathryn Mohrman Theatre, and tickets are available at the Worner Desk!

Cole has litigated many constitutional cases in the Supreme Court including Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, in which the ACLU represented a gay couple refused service by a bakery because they sought a cake to celebrate their wedding.

The lecture will be followed with audience questions and a book signing.
