Hourdequin received the grant in collaboration with David Havlick, assistant professor of geography and environmental studies at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The funding supports three years of research on the ecological restoration of former military lands, focusing specifically on lands now managed as National Wildlife Refuges.
