JoAnn Jacoby will join CC in August as the new\u00a0library\u00a0director.<\/p>\n
Most recently,\u00a0Jacoby\u00a0served as\u00a0associate\u00a0dean for\u00a0user\u00a0services in the University of Illinois Library, the largest publicly funded academic library in the U.S.\u00a0 She has spent most of her professional career at Illinois in a number of roles over the last 18 years, including\u00a0head of research and information services,\u00a0coordinator of the New Service Model Program,\u00a0anthropology and\u00a0sociology\u00a0subject\u00a0specialist, and\u00a0visiting\u00a0assistant\u00a0university archivist.\u00a0\u00a0Jacoby\u00a0has published her research on evolving scholarly practices and library service evaluation processes in major journals in the field. She has served as\u00a0chair of both the American Library Association\u2019s Library Research Roundtable and of the Anthropology and Sociology Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.<\/p>\n
Jacoby\u00a0has a Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.<\/p>\n
