Gude&#8217;s photo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acm.edu\/features\/Grand_Prize.html\">&#8220;Working on Manhood&#8221;<\/a> took the top honor.\u00a0 Her photo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acm.edu\/features\/ACM_Photo_Contest_2009_10\/Honorable_Mention\/Honorable_Mention_3.html\">&#8220;Iron Fist&#8221;<\/a> was one of 10\u00a0honorable mentions in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Gude, a sociology major and Asian studies minor, said she was exploring a Beijing <em>hutong<\/em>, or traditional neighborhood, when she came upon a group of migrant construction workers who were surprised by her presence, and even more surprised when she spoke Chinese. The winning photo depicts a boy who, when Gude asked if she could take his picture, nodded silently, took a long drag from his cigarette, and blew it toward the camera.<\/p>\n<p>The winning photos will be featured in a traveling exhibit that will visit 11 of the ACM colleges. It is scheduled to be exhibited in Worner Campus Center\u00a0February 24-March 3.
