Started the day out by driving to the highest point on the island to see across to mainland Spain. The view was slightly obscured by the cloud we drove into. We could barely see monument at the mountain top monastery.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Next<\/a>
Next stop: a lighthouse situated atop slate cliffs. We were able to scamper all along the cliffs to the very end of the peninsula.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"<\/a>
This beach was one of the sixteen strategic points upon which the British built watch towers to police shipping lanes in the Mediterranean. Also, it was a strategic place for lunch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Post<\/a>
Post lunch church visits! This is the oldest church on the island, built one year before Columbus sailed the ocean blue.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Using<\/a>
Using huge (large, massive, gynourmous, honestly these rocks are BIG), the original inhabitants of the Balearic Islands, the Talayotic, built solid watchtowers among other architectural structures.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The class giving a little scale to this taola, a structure created sans modern technology in the Talayotic temple.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Last<\/a>
Last stop of the day: ancient burial caves suspended over a 100ft cliff.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"One<\/a>
The view from the cliff with the burial caves. Not a bad last view in life, or last view of the day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
