Professor and emcee Ryan Ba\u00f1agale held an evening interview with Jamie Bernstein and Leonard Bernstein scholar Carol Oja to kick off the weekend-long symposium. Jamie Bernstein said that over 2,000 institutions world-wide were celebrating the 100th anniversary of her father.
