Linda Seger <\/b>recently won two book awards: a Gold Medal Illumination Book Award for \u201cSpiritual Steps on the Road to Success: Gaining the Goal Without Losing Your Soul,\u201d and a Silver Illumination Book Award for \u201cJesus Rode a Donkey: Why Millions of Christians are Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n Michael Allen Kelly ’69<\/p><\/div>\n Michael Allen Kelly<\/b> has been elected president of the Florida Medical Association Alliance for 2015-16. He is the first male to serve in this role. Recently retired from IBM, Michael is married to Rebecca Lynn Johnson, M.D., chief executive officer of the American Board of Pathology. They live in Tampa.<\/p>\n Jim Perlmutter celebrated the graduation of grand- niece Lucy Hartshorn \u201915 from CC alongside his niece, Vicki Lenox Pool \u201979.<\/p><\/div>\n Earlier this year, Bill Oman, left, and his husband Larry Crummer, center, completed a four-month cruise around the world. Among the highlights were visits to 26 countries, seeing the Taj Mahal at both sunset and sunrise, and taking a six-day side trip to Myanmar\u2019s pagan and Shwedagon temples.<\/p><\/div>\n (L to R) Classmates John Koshak and Scottie Jones met up at the Colorado Governor\u2019s Tourism Conference last year in Westminster, Colorado. Koshak owns See More Birds Nature Tours in Hillside, Colorado; Jones owns Leaping Lamb Farm in Alsea, Oregon, and presented at the conference on her experiences operating a farm stay.<\/p><\/div>\n A Colorado College scholarship has been established in memory of Peter Oatman<\/b>, who died Aug. 30 (see p. 48 for his obituary). Said Bob Moog \u201978<\/b>, \u201cPeter was a great classmate to all of us in the classes of \u201978\/\u201979 and was a great friend to many of us. Peter lived in Boulder with his wife Dottie Hiersteiner \u201978<\/b> and their two daughters. The story is a very CC story as Pete and Dottie met freshman year in Slocum. She concentrates her practice in administrative law, regulatory compliance and public procurement,\u2028and government contracts litigation.<\/p>\n Amy Yonashiro<\/b>, an educator at \u2019Iolani School in Honolulu, has earned the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. The award constitutes the country\u2019s highest recognition for a K-12 teacher \u2028of mathematics or science.<\/p>\n Kathy French and Judy De Groot, pictured here with the wedding party, were married July 10 at Colorado Springs\u2019 Garden of the Gods. She is working on a book project that traces the global supply chain of her own internal cardiac defibrillator.<\/p>\n Jessica Gingold completed a 1,350-mile tandem bicycle ride in May with her father, a civil-rights attorney, from Cincinnati to New Orleans by way of Ferguson, Missouri. The ride, Pedaling Justice, raised nearly $30,000 for two criminal justice reform organizations: Ohio Justice & Policy Center and the Children\u2019s Law Center.
