Don\u2019t let the long, languid days of summer fool you \u2014 Colorado College is a hoppin\u2019 place in the summertime. On the CC campus this summer:<\/p>\n

\"RS41138_7_23_14_ADMISSIONS_ROAD_0057\"<\/a>20 weddings <\/strong>in Shove Memorial Chapel between Memorial Day and Labor Day<\/p>\n

156 tours<\/strong> given by the Office of Admission<\/p>\n

7.5 miles<\/strong> of materials, including books, periodicals, government documents, and other small collections moved from Tutt Library to the Creekside temporary storage facility (not end-to-end, but upright, as they would be on a bookshelf)<\/p>\n

\"RS46095_8_17_15_BRIDGE<\/a>55 Bridge Scholars <\/strong>(approximately) arriving Aug. 7, two weeks prior to the start of New Student Orientation on Aug. 20<\/p>\n

\"SMFCoverPhoto2016\"<\/a>28 events<\/strong> held over three weeks during CC\u2019s Summer Music Festival<\/p>\n

93 children <\/strong>registered in nine weekly sessions at FunQuest, a summer day camp sponsored by the Cheryl Schlessman Bennett Children\u2019s Center<\/p>\n

\"BUL-AUG16-PG01-TuttRenoFeatureImage\"<\/a>60 plus<\/strong> construction workers daily on the Tutt Library renovation site<\/p>\n

\"CC-BUL-APRIL2016-05-NewsMillerGarden\"<\/a>3 new gardens <\/strong>installed, featuring a total of 503 perennials, 55 shrubs, and five trees. Additionally, 104 shrubs were replaced, 1,482 annuals planted, and 103 trees were either planted or moved from one part of campus to another (note that trees are under the purview of Michael Spruce, of CC groundskeeping in facilities)<\/p>\n

4 filming sessions <\/strong>on campus: \u201cA Last Mural,\u201d featuring the Eric Bransby \u201947<\/strong> mural in Cossitt Hall\u2028for public television; two filming sessions for \u201cHittin\u2019 the Road\u201d on Rocky Mountain PBS, the first a story on Professor Brian Linkhart\u2019s owl research and another on the history of time featuring the sundial on the Van Briggle facilities building; and an NBC crew filming an interview with Travis Tygart, head of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, prior to the Rio Olympics.<\/p>\n

50 cabinets <\/strong>with microforms and maps moved from Tutt Library to the Creekside facility<\/p>\n
