It\u2019s an opportunity for students to celebrate the CC community and share it with their families\u2014including parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles \u2026 and friends! Come and spend time reconnecting with your student, and experience firsthand the people, programs, and places that make Colorado College a true original.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">With mountains in the near distance, campus will be alive with the sounds of music from a variety of genres. On Friday evening, Sept. 28, Colorado College is honored to welcome National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Pharoah Sanders to campus for a one-night-only performance of improvisational jazz, accompanied by William Henderson on piano, Nat Reeves on bass, and Jonathan Blake on drums. The concert will be filmed for a documentary written and co-produced by CC Assistant Professor of Race, Ethnicity, and Migration Studies Michael Sawyer and renowned director Kevin Wilmott (\u201cBlacKkKlansman,\u201d \u201cChiraq\u201d). Don\u2019t miss your chance to see this special performance by a jazz legend!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After President Tiefenthaler\u2019s keynote address on Saturday, Sept. 29, everyone is invited to head to Worner Quad for the Community Picnic, which will include a performance by CC\u2019s own Tiger Jazz Ensemble. Grab a plate of tasty treats and enjoy the swingin\u2019 sounds of this student ensemble, under the baton of new director Mike Van Arsdale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Later that afternoon, join talented musicians <b>Chris Young P\u201921<\/b>, and <b>Brenda Brenner P\u201921<\/b>, professors at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, in Shove Memorial Chapel for a combined recital of various works for organ and violin that explore the range of the chapel\u2019s magnificent instrument. Built by the Welte-Tripp Organ Company of Sound Beach, Connecticut in 1931, the Shove Chapel organ was selected by the Organ Historical Society as \u201can instrument of exceptional historic merit worthy of preservation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finally, the weekend will be capped off by the popular Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday morning in Rastall Caf\u00e9, where diners will be treated to the sounds of CC\u2019s nationally recognized student Bluegrass Ensemble.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>While you\u2019re on campus\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Visit the newly renovated <b>Tutt Library<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Explore the <b>Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Attend one of the faculty-led <b>TigerED<\/b>programs on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Drop in on the Arts and Crafts program, the Wellness Resource Center, or the Ahlberg Outdoor Education Center during their Friday afternoon <b>open houses<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Hear from a <b>panel of CC students<\/b>who will share stories about experiences that have helped them to develop skills and refine their career goals and aspirations as they prepare to put their education to work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Find out more about internship and research opportunities available to CC students at the <b>Student Research and Internship Symposium<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Explore downtown Colorado Springs with a <b>walking tour <\/b>facilitated by the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs or by dining out at one of the restaurants participating in the <b>Night on the Town<\/b>program sponsored by the Colorado College Student Government Association.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Get your workout on at the <b>Adam F.
