John Krauss sent us word that he created a garden at the front entrance to the Indianapolis Museum of Art to honor his late wife Eleanor \u201cNonie\u201d Krauss. Sam was surprised and pleased to learn, while making preparations for a voyage to Antarctica last year where he was hosting patrons of the museum, that the ship also would be occupied by a group from Colorado College. (See story on page 9.) <\/em>You can read an article about Sam at www.carnegiemuseums.org\/cmag\/article.php?id=90<\/a><\/p>\n Tom Autobee \u201973 was joined by family members Andrea Autobee \u201901, Joyce Baca Anderson \u201975, and Pat Garcia \u201976 when he received the Professional of the Decade Award from the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce in February 2009. In 2009 Tom also was inducted into the Pueblo East High School Hall of Fame and received the Marketing in Excellence Award from the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.<\/p><\/div>\n Jay Engeln<\/strong>, former boys soccer coach at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, was selected as the 68th recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America\u2019s Honor Award. He was presented the award on Jan.15 at the association\u2019s annual awards banquet, held in conjunction with the 2010 NSCAA convention in Philadelphia, Pa. As a biology teacher at Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Engeln organized the first public high school soccer team in southern Colorado.<\/p>\n The recipient of the 2010 Citizens Project Divine Award is activist John Weiss<\/strong>, founder and publisher of the Colorado Springs Independent<\/em>. The Divine Award is given annually to an individual in the Pikes Peak region who has worked tirelessly to create a vibrant democracy in which equal rights are protected and differences are respected. According to Citizen\u2019s Project: \u201cJohn Weiss is a visionary entrepreneur, collaborator, and community activist whose leadership has created a more diverse, progressive, and green Colorado Springs over the last 27 years.\u201d<\/p>\n’72<\/h3>\n
