\"Friends<\/a><\/strong>

Friends from the Class of \u201979 gathered for a reunion in Sedona, Ariz., in October 2009; from left, Nancy Levit, Linda Snow Martin, Sue Sonnek Strater, Kathy Loeb, Deb Parks Palmisane, and Julie Edelstein Best.Karyn McGinley \u201987 formed a class lesson around materials from her alma mater. Students in her class at Youens Elementary School in Houston learned about the benefits of a college education.<\/p><\/div>\n


\nTim Peek <\/strong>has a new title: Executive producer of transformation at NBC. He will oversee the incorporation of emerging technologies into the daily practices of the news division. Most recently, Tim was a senior digital producer at NBC where he worked to advance digital journalism efforts across the news division, heading up technical and editorial training around new techniques. Tim joined NBC News in 1996 as an investigative producer for \u201cDateline NBC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Antonette DeLauro Smith<\/strong> serves on the Board of Trustees of the Hospice of Saint John in Lakewood, Colo.<\/p>\n

Annie Richardson Danielson <\/strong>and her husband Mark \u201984<\/strong> were featured in a cover story in Colorado Biz<\/em> magazine in December 2009. The story was about how their thriving home-d\u00e9cor business, Danielson Designs, has brought jobs to Las Animas County. Now, they\u2019ve set their sights on reviving Trinidad\u2019s historic downtown.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Blair <\/strong>reports that he was awarded a Distinguished Fulbright Award in Teaching to spend the first three and a half months of 2010 doing educational research in Cape Town, South Africa. A summer 2008 trip he took to South Africa was full of CC connections: \u201cMy wife (also a teacher) and I went to the Cape Town area with a Seattle\u00adbased program, Bridges to Understanding, that brings digital storytelling resources to school sites around the world. When we arrived at our school site, our photography instructor turned out to be Josh Schachter \u201993<\/strong>. After this program and experience, we went to a game reserve where, in a safari truck, we found ourselves seated with Rob Leigh \u201987<\/strong> and his family. We enjoyed becoming reacquainted and having our families meet. All in all, quite a serendipitous and remote reconnecting!\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJim Lasko <\/strong>tells us he was recently named the first\u00ad-ever artist-\u00adin-\u00adresidence for the City of Chicago. He says, \u201cMy work as an artist is concerned with the intersection of urban engagement and ephemera, events of grand scale, or tightly designed site\u00ad-specific interventions.\u201d<\/p>\n
