Jessica and Evan currently reside in Zurich, Switzerland, and welcome Tiger visitors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Morrison <\/strong>reports that he and wife Kristen are moving back to Colorado to be closer to family. He\u2019ll be working in-house for MarkWest, a small energy company headquartered in Denver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elliot Doleis <\/strong>an investment advisor associate with Buckingham Asset Management, LLC, based in St. Louis. The company offers fee-based investment advisor services for individuals, businesses, trusts, nonprofits, and retirement plans.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;02<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Bettina Swigger<\/strong>, executive director of the Cultural  Office of the Pikes Peak Region, was elected to the Americans for the  Arts Emerging Leaders Council in December 2009. She began serving a  three-\u00adyear term with the council in January 2010. The Emerging Leaders  program encourages new arts leaders to participate fully in the  nonprofit arts field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicole Garst Forsythe <\/strong>and her husband, <strong>Christopher  Forsythe \u201903<\/strong>, are both attending graduate school. Christopher  is pursuing a master\u2019s of fine art degree in printmaking from the  University of Iowa in Iowa City and Nicole is pursuing a master\u2019s of  library and information science degree at the University of Illinois in  Urbana\u00ad-Champaign.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Dickerson Nyquist \u201902 <\/strong>told us that her sister,  <strong>Megan Dickerson \u201910<\/strong>, painted a lovely mural on the  outside wall of the Dale Street Caf\u00e9 near campus this past June <em>(photo  above)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;03<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Lindsay Weidmann <\/strong>has recorded an album, \u201cWhat Else  Have I Been Missing,\u201d available on her Web site, <a href=\"http:\/\/lindsayweidmann.com\/\">lindsayweidmann.com<\/a>. She has been  heralded for her \u201camazingly captivating voice; personable,  thought\u00adprovoking lyrics, and wonderfully engaging live performance,\u201d  and has been called \u201cthe songwriter to watch in the Rocky Mountain  area.\u201d Lindsay has been performing her own repertoire of folk, acoustic,  folk\u00adrock, light country, and blues throughout Colorado.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew Merrill <\/strong>recently participated in an  environmental policy career panel at CC. He is an associate at White and  Jankowski, LLP in Denver, where his practice emphasizes litigation of  water rights and environmental law cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lindsay Moskowitz Brown <\/strong>graduated from the  University of Colorado at Colorado Springs School of Public Affairs with  her master\u2019s in public administration and a graduate certificate in  nonprofit management in December 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>H.C. Martensen <\/strong>and <strong>Ruth Rounds \u201904 <\/strong>married  on September 12, 2009, in Steamboat Springs, Colo. They  started with an enrollment of 10 children in the friend\u2019s basement, but  quickly realized that there were more families interested than they had  space for. In 2008, they moved to a house in Louisville, Colo., where  they now have an enrollment of 51. Elizabeth says her interest in the  philosophy of education began seriously during her Philosophy of  Education course at CC, and has since blossomed into a full\u00adblown  school, several speaking engagements each year, and a goal to expand  through elementary and middle school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sean Coffey <\/strong>married Elizabeth Victoreen on May 2,  2009, in Oakland, Calif. CC alumni in attendance included <strong>Katie  Coffey \u201907<\/strong>, <strong>David Coffey \u201996 <\/strong>as best man, <strong>Hilary  Specht \u201995<\/strong>, <strong>Cynthia Kellogg<\/strong>, <strong>Jack  Forder<\/strong>, <strong>Emily Garcia<\/strong>, <strong>Matthew Coffman  \u201902<\/strong>, <strong>John Galfione<\/strong>, <strong>Andy Meyer \u201904<\/strong>,  and <strong>Emily Watt \u201904<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;04<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Katharine Hauschka <\/strong>worked as a photographer on a Web  site redesign for the Pregnancy Aid Center of Maryland in collaboration  with the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. Hers was  an important role in a redesign that depended on strong visuals. Some  of her biggest challenges came from the nature of the clinic \u2014 not only  was she documenting clinical experiences (private in nature), but she  also had to obtain model releases from clients who often did not speak  English. You can see some of her images at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pregnancyaidcenter.com\/\">www.pregnancyaidcenter.com\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the process of getting his M.A. in international affairs, <strong>Eli  Mechanic <\/strong>had an interesting trip to Kurdish Iraq for spring  break. \u201cThe sense of adventure I developed while studying at CC was  instrumental in influencing me to do the Peace Corps, live and work in  Beirut, and travel to places like Syria and Iraq.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liesl Peterson <\/strong>and <strong>Peter Erb <\/strong>were  married June 20, 2009, in Bozeman, Mont. Those attending the wedding  from CC included <strong>Amy Belcastro<\/strong>, <strong>Jaemey Shim  Bush<\/strong>, <strong>Mary Groome<\/strong>, <strong>Kendra Murray<\/strong>,  <strong>Bill Bush<\/strong>, <strong>Michelle Krefft Watkins<\/strong>, <strong>Jeremy  Sueltenfuss \u201907<\/strong>, <strong>Kayly Van Buskirk Newland<\/strong>, <strong>Scott  Reis<\/strong>, and <strong>Walter De Gunya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kristen Klein <\/strong>reports that she graduated from  Seattle University with a master of science in nursing in August 2009,  and has become board-certified as a family nurse practitioner. She is  now working at a rural health clinic in the Methow Valley in Washington  state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Welle<\/strong>, manager of creative at Sony\/ATV Music  Publishing, was named one of Billboard Magazine\u2019s \u201cTop 30 Under 30\u201d in  the music business in LA. She used an internship at Epic Records as a  springboard to an \u201cartists and repertoire\u201d position at the label, where  she worked on projects by acts like Modest Mouse, Natasha Bedingfield,  and the Fray; she also brought rapper Yung Berg to the label. Katie then  joined Sony\/ATV Music\u2019s creative staff on the West Coast. She now  scouts new songwriters and artists, arranges, cowrites, and plugs songs  for major-label artist projects.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;06<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Whitney Johnson <\/strong>is the founder and executive director  of Ubuntu Africa (UBA), an organization that provides comprehensive care  for HIV-positive children in South Africa. After graduation, Whitney  moved to South Africa and launched the organization, which serves  children and teens in Khayelitsha, South Africa, an impoverished  township with 1.5 million residents and nearly 40 percent HIV-AIDS rate  among children. For a short video about Whitney\u2019s work in South Africa,  go to <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/4928234\">http:\/\/vimeo.com\/4928234<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;07<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Chris Benz <\/strong>was managing editor and <strong>Jackson  Solway \u201909 <\/strong>was photo editor for issue #33 of <em>McSweeney\u2019s <\/em>quarterly,  a literary journal. Chris says, \u201cWe spent the better part of 2009  experimenting and trying to produce a prototype newspaper for the 21st  century, something we hoped could inspire determined journalists about  the future of print. We sold out our first printing in 90 minutes, and  we are printing more. The issue has Stephen King writing about the World  Series, Michael Chabon on music, Miranda July in conversation with  James Franco, full-\u00adpage color comics by folks like Art Spiegelman, and  many, many other writers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jenna Lipscomb<\/strong> recently participated in an  environmental policy career panel at CC. In her position at CTG  Energetics, a sustainability consulting firm located in Colorado  Springs, she advises companies on how to effectively reduce energy  consumption, water use, material depletion, and site disturbance in the  built environment.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;08<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Nick Waggoner<\/strong>, <strong>Zac Ramras<\/strong>, and <strong>Ben  Sturgulewski<\/strong>, of Sweetgrass Productions, won the Best  Cinematography Award from <em>Powder Ski Magazine <\/em>for their film  \u201cSignatures,\u201d which was released in September 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Several CC alumni recently returned to campus for a science career  panel: <strong>Brian Abeyta<\/strong>, who works as a bioanalytical  chemist at Pyxant Labs and <strong>Jake Morgan<\/strong>, who is a  research assistant in pharmacology at the University of Colorado Medical  School.<\/p>\n<p>Others on the science career panel were: <strong>Marissa Hummon \u201900<\/strong>,  who works in the Strategic Energy Analysis Center at the National  Renewable Energy Laboratory; <strong>Keith Connaghan \u201902<\/strong>, who  received his Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and plans on working in a  postdoctoral position at CU; and <strong>Sarah McCants-Lebsack \u201905<\/strong>,  who is director of a Sylvan Learning Center and is in the process of  applying to and interviewing for medical school.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8217;09<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>During the summer of 2008, <strong>Annie Whetzel <\/strong>received a  CC Venture Grant to travel through Italy and collect recipes while  working on organic farms. The final product was a gluten\u00adfree recipe  collection that she spent the past year turning into a published  cookbook, titled \u201cOlio Aglio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCasket,\u201d the Super Bowl Doritos commercial for which <strong>Char  Lee <\/strong>was casting director, was one of four in the \u201cCrash the  Super Bowl\u201d commercial competition that aired during the game. There  were 4,000 entries, and Char\u2019s was one of six finalists; four of those  advanced to the grand\u00adprize winning status and were aired. You can see  the commercial at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crashthesuperbowl.com\/\">www.crashthesuperbowl.com\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Billy Blaustein <\/strong>has been awarded an Ambassadorial  Scholarship by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. The grant  is for $24,000 for a year of study in any university in the world.
