Twenty years after skating together at Honnen Ice Arena, Dorothy Diggs ’88 and Guy Gadowsy ’89, the head coach of the Princeton Tigers men’s hockey team, crossed paths again at another rink. The reunion was at Harvard University where they celebrated after Guy’s team’s victory in January. Dorothy traveled from Maine to cheer for the Tigers, her fellow alum and classmate, and one of his seniors, who, in another hockey world connection, is a player Dorothy coached when he was is grade school.<\/p><\/div>\n

From left, Kristie Tschudy Rabasca, Janette Joy “J.J.” Hale, and Susie Sherman Hennessy (all Class of ’85), reunited in Kansas City for a weekend of fun. Susie is a tenured professor of French at Missouri Western State University; Kristie is a senior environmental engineer at Sevee & Maher Engineers in Portland, Maine; and J.J. is based in London where she managed private aircraft, a job that takes her to Europe, the Middle East, and most recently, South Africa.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Academy of Parish Clergy, an international organization of clergy from many religious backgrounds and perspectives, has chosen Peter Marty<\/strong>, senior pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa, as Parish Pastor of the Year. The award is given by the APC each year to a parish pastor who consistently has demonstrated exemplary faithfulness, leadership, and personal characteristics in ministry, as reported by multiple endorsements from colleagues and parishioners. \u2022 Jane Haggerty Krader<\/strong> is a middle-school principal at ICARDA International School of Aleppo in Aleppo, Syria. It is a nonprofit, co-ed day school founded to serve the children of staff members of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). \u2022 Professor Emeritus Ray O. Werner P\u201973, P\u201979 <\/strong>tells us that Bob Shake<\/strong> is now senior vice president of commercial sales for Alaska USA Insurance Brokers, as reported in Alaska Business Monthly<\/em>. According to the story, Bob brings with him more than 30 years of commercial banking and insurance experience in Alaska, including senior and executive management positions.<\/p>\n

Suzanna \u201cSonny\u201d Montague<\/strong> has received her master\u2019s of art in anthropology from California State University-Sacramento for her thesis on the high-elevation archeology of Yosemite. She is the senior project archeologist for Yosemite National Park. Her proud husband, Pete Devine \u201981<\/strong> is the resident naturalist for the Yosemite Conservancy and in 2009 was awarded the highest honor given by the Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBrett Barker <\/strong>has an all-mare hitch of spotted pinto draft horses that he affectionately calls ‘The Fat Chicks.\u2019 \u201d So begins a lively article in the Spring 2010 edition of The Draft Horse Journal<\/em> about Brett, his love of horses, storytelling, and cooking.<\/p>\n

Brian Hoskins ’90, Jennifer Myers Coombs ’86, Marc Doucette ’90<\/p><\/div>\n

Jennifer Myers Coombs<\/strong> received her Ph.D. in public health from the University of Utah in May. She is an assistant professor in the Utah physician assistant program. In June 2009 she found herself on a Grand Canyon river trip with two other CC grads, Brian Hoskins \u201990<\/strong> and Marc Doucette \u201990<\/strong>. \u2022 Ginger Morgan<\/strong>, associate dean of students at CC, was asked to speak several times over the past year to local and regional high school students and their parents about transitioning to college. She has spoken at the Cheyenne Mountain School District in Colorado Springs, at The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs, at Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, Colo., and Palmer Ridge High School in Monument. She also spoke at Cherry Creek High School in Denver and at Rowland Hall School in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n

David Lazerwitz<\/strong>, a partner in Farella Braun and Martel, was honored with California Lawyer<\/em> magazine\u2019s Attorneys of the Year Award in the environmental category for his court victory to help protect California\u2019s desert from off-highway vehicle impacts in Center for Biological Diversity, et al. v.
