Here\u2019s an idea.<\/p>\n<p>Come November, Tiger Hockey fans will have a chance to experience the annual battle for the Gold Pan from an insider\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Rival Films, LLC, is busy this summer putting the finishing touches on a full-length video that showcases the annual competition between Colorado College and the University of Denver for bragging rights along the Front Range.<\/p>\n<p>The DVD, featuring game footage from last season as well as interviews with team members past and present from both teams, will retail for $14.95 once available this fall,\u00a0just in time for the holidays. Stay tuned on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/CCtigers.com\" target=\"_blank\">CC Tigers<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An abbreviated version of the video also is expected to air on a prominent sports network.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, two Tigers-to-be \u2013\u00a0forward <strong>Jaden Schwartz<\/strong> and defenseman <strong>Peter Stoykewych<\/strong> \u2013 were selected by NHL teams during the league\u2019s entry draft in late June. Schwartz was a first\u2013round pick of St. Louis. Stoykewych, who won\u2019t enroll at CC until fall of 2011, was a seventh-round pick of the Atlanta Thrashers.<\/p>\n<p>Like the hockey team, whose roster will include five Canadians along with sophomore forward <strong>Scott Winkler<\/strong> of Asker, Norway, for the 2010-11 season, the women\u2019s soccer program has adopted more of an international look for this fall.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women\u2019s Soccer<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Among CC\u2019s incoming class of recruits, which numbers nine freshmen altogether, are <strong>Catherine Zaumseil<\/strong> of D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany, and <strong>Yumi Nguyen<\/strong> of Wellington, New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Both are expected to make an impact as the Tigers head into their fifth season as an affiliate member of Conference USA, where they finished second with an 8-2-1 record in league play in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very talented class,\u201d head coach Geoff Bennett said of his nine newcomers. \u201cThey will contribute a lot. That being said, they need to come in here and win spots; nothing will just be given to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>General<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> Brittney Moore \u201910 <\/strong>(swimming and diving and track and field) and <strong>Chris Ellis \u201910<\/strong> (men\u2019s soccer) were recipients of the annual Laura Golden and Van Diest Awards as Colorado College\u2019s top female and male student-athletes among the 2010 graduating class at Honors Convocation in Shove Chapel on May 4.<\/p>\n<p>Andre \u201cAndy\u201d Gambucci \u201953, a standout for the CC baseball, football, and hockey teams during the early 1950s, will be inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 27.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Men\u2019s Basketball<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> Nick Rose \u201911<\/strong> was named to the USA D-3 Basketball All-Star Team that played five games during a tour of Brazil in early August.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s Lacrosse<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Colorado College earned three of the top honors from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and had eight players named to the first-ever all-SCAC men\u2019s lacrosse team. Attackman <strong>Carson Christman \u201912<\/strong> was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year, defender <strong>Zach Hoisington \u201911<\/strong> was selected Defensive Player of the Year, and first-year head coach Guy Van Arsdale was voted Coach of the Year.<br \/>\nOther first-team selections were attacker <strong>Moses Taylor \u201912, <\/strong>midfielder <strong>James Mauk \u201911<\/strong> and faceoff specialist <strong>Kyle Bishop \u201910.<\/strong> Midfielder <strong>Chris Love \u201910<\/strong>, long-pole middie <strong>Michael McGeary \u201910<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> and defender <strong>Chris Kolodey \u201911<\/strong> were named to the second team.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers won the inaugural SCAC title and finished the season with a 12-2 record.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women\u2019s Lacrosse<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><strong>Maggie DeFanti \u201910<\/strong> was named to the IWLCA\/US Lacrosse All-West Region second team after leading the Tigers to an 8-5 record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s Track and Field<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Jackson Brainerd \u201912<\/strong> finished 13th nationally with a time of 3:53.84 in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships. Brainerd earlier set a school record in the 1,500 when he posted a 3:51.30 at the Occidental College Invitational. <strong>Bradley Dsida \u201911 <\/strong>also set a new CC standard in the 800 meters at Occidental. His 1:53.14 clocking was .92 seconds faster than <strong>James Rankin\u2019s<\/strong> (Class of \u201992) mark, which had stood since 1990. Dsida, <strong>Dan Kraft \u201911<\/strong> and <strong>Andrew Wagner \u201911<\/strong> earned all-conference honors at the 2010 SCAC Championships.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women\u2019s Track and Field<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><strong>Brittney Moore \u201910<\/strong> earned all-SCAC honors by finishing third in the triple jump at the league championship meet, where her effort of 35 feet, 7 3\/4 inches represented a season best.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Swimming and Diving<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jordan DeGayner \u201912<\/strong> competed in three freestyle events during his first appearance at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota\u2019s Aquatic Center. DeGayner finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle, coming from behind to win the consolation final with a time of 46.21.
