Sue, the CEO of Allonhill, won in the publication\u2019s banking and finance category. The award recognizes winners\u2019 innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishments, and community leadership. He will return to work with Levi Strauss and Company on a transformation of their brand structure from regional to global.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201983<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Brian Gordon<\/strong> is getting attention in the tennis world with his creation, 3-D Tennis Technologies. In May, Brian took 10 digital-video cameras with infrared beams to the tennis academy run by Rick Macci, a coach who has trained tennis greats Andy Roddick and Venus and Serena Williams. Brian uses his equipment to analyze technique, fitting players with infrared reflectors and asking them to hit serves as the cameras record and software calculate racket speed, torque, and angular momentum. He posts the data on a website on which players are represented by stick figures that swing in 3-D. \u2022 <strong>Laura Hershey\u2019s<\/strong> poetry and digital art were chosen to be featured on the U.S. Department of Labor\u2019s poster for National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October 2010. She also has had poems appear recently in <em>Calyx: A Journal of Art and Literature by Women<\/em>, <em>Shakespeare\u2019s Monkey Review<\/em>, <em>Trillium Literary Journal<\/em>, wordgathering.com, and the anthology \u201cFire in the Soul: 100 Poems for Human Rights.\u201d Her essays have appeared in <em>Waccamaw Journal<\/em>, <em>National Parks,<\/em> and <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em>. In addition to her own blog at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">www.laurahershey.com<\/span>, she also wrote a bimonthly blog for\u00a0the Reeve Foundation community website at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">www.spinalcord injury-paralysis.org<\/span> (She died 11\/26. It is her 24th year of teaching. She is the mother of sophomore <strong>Shaye Smith<\/strong> \u2019<strong>13<\/strong>. Amy reports Shaye said\u00a0of her first year at CC: \u201cI can\u2019t imagine it any other way!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u201985<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ian Griffis<\/strong>, CEO of Griffis Group of Colorado Springs, has branched out from real estate to hosting events. In 2009, Ian hosted his first benefit equine show jumping competition, and in August 2010, he hosted a show jumping Grand Prix on his family\u2019s Palmer Divide Ranch. Michael is<strong> <\/strong>a co-producer of the festival and Daniel was a featured filmmaker with his Oscar-nominated short film \u201cThe Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u201987<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Inger Sigrun Brodey<\/strong> is a tenured associate professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in English and comparative literature, with an adjunct position in Asian studies. She also directs the undergraduate studies program in comparative literature. Her second book, \u201cRuined by Design: Shaping Novels and Gardens in the Culture of Sensibility\u201d (Routledge, 2008) won the South Atlantic Modern Language Association Book Award in November for the best scholarly book in the South Atlantic region of the Modern Language Association published in the previous year. She and Benjamin have four children, ages 12, 10, 5, and 3. \u2022 Todson, Inc., the U.S. distributor for Topeak cycling accessories and OnGuard Locks, recently promoted <strong>Dorothy Nichols<\/strong> to the role of senior director of events. Dorothy will continue to represent Todson at trade shows for both Topeak and OnGuard. Most recently, Dorothy represented OnGuard at the Daytona 200. She will also act as an advocate with governmental agencies and legislators at events such as the National Bike Summit, which she attended in March. Dorothy is a former member of USA Cycling, and previously worked in management positions for a number of cycling or cycling-related groups, including tenures as race team manager for Yeti Scott and Schwinn and as a bike leader for Bike Vermont, a bike touring company offering European tours. He recently appeared on TLC\u2019s \u201cAmerican Chopper\u201d with the building of an ESAB motorcycle. He currently lives in South Carolina. \u2022 <strong>Peter McLaughlin<\/strong> has joined Longroad Asset Management LLC in Stamford, Conn., as director of originations. He has more than 20 years experience originating, structuring, and investing debt and equity in middle-market companies.
