She went to Ghana in January as a consultant for WomenTrust, an NGO with a mission of empowering women and girls through microfinance, education, and healthy living skills. Haney<\/strong> and Frederick McKay was featured in a Jan. 8 article in <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>. Frederick became famous for discovering that fluoride protected against tooth decay. John\u2019s family lived next door to the McKays in the old North End in Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201964<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cornelius G. Strakosh<\/strong> was named an executive of the year by Stanford Who\u2019s Who in 2010. As head of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Jane played a central role in determining how the nation responded after the Deepwater Horizon rig started gushing oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
