\"2012-13<\/a>Austin Howlett \u201915<\/strong> capped a brilliant sophomore season by being selected Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Diver of the\u00a0 Year for the second consecutive season.<\/p>\n

Howlett, who became the first CC diver to earn the award, won both boards at the 2013 SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships and was named Diver of the Meet\u00a0\u00a0 for the second year\u00a0in a row.<\/p>\n

At the recently completed NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, Howlett finished eighth on the 3-meter board and became the fourth men’s diver in Colorado College history to earn All-America honors, joining Kris Hammond \u201980<\/strong>, Keith Kenner \u201977<\/strong>, and Marshall Griffith \u201971<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Howlett, who finished with 433.90 points, earned a spot in the championship finals by finishing seventh in the preliminaries. He earned 11 points for the Tigers, who tied for 37th place in the team standings. Howlett also finished 21st in the 1-meter diving.<\/p>\n

\"2013<\/a>The Makawao, Hawaii, product secured a trip to the national meet by winning the 3-meter competition at the Region\u00a0 II Diving Championships\u00a0\u00a0 in San Antonio, Texas. He completed the event with 482.15 points, 24 more than James Stevick from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.<\/p>\n

At this year’s conference meet, Howlett set school records on both boards. He claimed his first 1-meter title with an NCAA qualifying score of 480.95, and successfully defended his title in the 3-meter diving with an 11-dive score of 527.75.<\/p>\n

Howlett was among several Big Cats who played a major role in their teams\u2019 second-place finishes at the championships.<\/p>\n

The Tigers won eight individual titles and one relay, surpassed the NCAA ‘B-Cut’ qualifying score in seven events, and set a total of 16 school records.<\/p>\n

Robbie Adler ’16<\/strong> won the 100-yard breaststroke and swam the third leg for CC’s victorious foursome in the 800 freestyle relay, joining Michael Bennett ’14<\/strong>, Brian Kopec ’15<\/strong>, and Matt Nadel ’15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Colin Chupik ’16<\/strong> took first place in the 200-butterfly.<\/p>\n

Olivia Dilorati ’16<\/strong> finished first in both backstroke races and was the only CC woman to win multiple events.<\/p>\n

Brenna Day ’14<\/strong> claimed the 50 free title, while Megan Gillespie ’16<\/strong> prevailed in the 200 butterfly.<\/p>\n

The NCAA qualifying scores were posted by Chupik, Dilorati, Gillespie (2), Howlett (2), and Nicole Fazio ’13<\/strong> in the women’s 3-meter diving.<\/p>\n

For the second championship in a row, head coach Anne Goodman James, assistant coach Chris Sullivan, and diving coach Ellen Walker earned Women’s Coaching Staff of Year honors, sharing this year’s distinction with Trinity University.<\/p>\n
