She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.<\/p>\n Karla White Tesch<\/strong>, Dec. 12, 2008.\u00a0 She is survived by her husband, John W., and children Heather and Toby.<\/p>\n Peter Kevin Martin<\/strong>, April 2008, in Roseville, Calif.\u00a0 He is survived by his brother, James C. ’69<\/strong>; two nieces; and a nephew.<\/p>\n Scott Brendan Slade<\/strong>, Oct. 11, 2008, San Diego, Calif.\u00a0 Scott was a Colorado native whose struggle to live a normal life after he became a quadriplegic was chronicled in the Rocky Mountain News<\/em>.\u00a0 In January 2007, Scott contracted a simple bacterial infection that spread up his spinal column and left him paralyzed.\u00a0 His wife, Kathy, was pregnant, and the shock of her husband’s illness sent her into premature labor, and she gave birth to twin girls, Samantha and Stephanie. After graduation from Colorado College, he earned his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona. After he became ill, he spent five months undergoing treatment at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Englewood, Colo.\u00a0 He was about to celebrate his first anniversary of returning home to his family in San Diego when he contracted a fatal infection. Scott is survived by his wife and daughters; his parents, Gilbert and Elaine Slade; and his sister, Erin.<\/p>\n Philip Edward Buchanan<\/strong>, March 2, 2009, in Portland, Ore. In 1985, his senior year in high school, Phil was diagnosed with a head tumor.\u00a0 For 24 years, Phil met the challenges of managing this cancer through surgeries, radiation therapies, and medications.\u00a0 He and his wife Wendy Thomas ’91 <\/strong>traveled, skied, canoed, swam, camped, drove Phil’s 1976 Land Cruiser, listened to music, and laughed together.\u00a0In 2006, Phil became blind; he and Wendy sold their home and his business and move to Portland, Ore.\u00a0Unfortunately, in 2008, Phil’s health declined.\u00a0He is survived by his wife, their daughter Zoey, and many loving family members and friends.<\/p>\n Adam Michael Petrelli<\/strong>, Jan. 23, 2009, in New York City.\u00a0 He is survived by his father, Anthony Petrelli and his wife, Shonya; his mother, Mary Gallo and her husband, Craig; his brothers Brian, Michael, and Caleb; and his sister Katie.<\/p>\n Steve Durand<\/strong>, April 11, 2009, in Colorado Springs.
