Three Tigers \u2014 guard Ryan Milne \u201914<\/b> and forward Chris Lesnansky \u201915<\/b> of the men\u2019s team, along with guard Courtney Tyus \u201915<\/b> of the women\u2019s squad \u2014 received all-SCAC recognition. Milne and Lesnansky, who led Colorado College to an overall record of 17-8, earned first-team accolades while Tyus was voted to the women\u2019s third team. Justin Berardino \u201916<\/b> and Danielle Davis \u201916<\/b> were honorable-mention selections.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Soccer Joins Mountain West<\/h2>\n

After spending the past two seasons atop Conference USA, the Colorado College women\u2019s soccer team has a new and more challenging mountain to climb. Starting in the fall of 2014, CC will compete as an affiliate member of the Mountain West \u2014 against natural geographic rivals Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Utah State, and Wyoming.<\/p>\n

The Tigers, hosts of the sport\u2019s first national collegiate championship in 1980, made their 11th appearance overall in the NCAA post-season tournament last fall. With a crowd of more than 1,700 roaring its approval at Stewart Field, they battled Duke University to a 1-1 tie in the first-round regional matchup before falling in a post-overtime shootout.<\/p>\n

Colorado College, which will celebrate its 30th season in the NCAA Division I ranks this fall, won its second consecutive C-USA regular-season title with an 8-1-1 mark and claimed its first-ever postseason crown with a 3-0 victory over North Texas in the championship match.<\/p>\n

Swimming and Diving<\/h2>\n

Swimmer Olivia Dilorati \u201916<\/b> and diver Austin Howlett \u201915<\/b> earned invitations to the 2014 NCAA Division III championships scheduled for March 19-22. The two standouts helped CC to second place in the women\u2019s and men\u2019s team standings at the annual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference meet in late February, when the Tigers smashed 16 school records, set a pair of new SCAC marks, won 10 events, and posted 147 lifetime bests. Dilorati had a hand in a total of six conference titles and seven school-record performances.<\/p>\n

After completing a weekend sweep over the University of Denver with a 3-1 victory at the Colorado Springs World Arena on Feb. 22, the CC hockey team celebrated with the coveted Gold Pan for the 12th time in the 21 seasons since the trophy\u2019s inception in 1993-94.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
