Bill C. Berger<\/b> has been appointed to the Denver Fisher House Foundation board of directors. The foundation provides a \u201chome away from home\u201d for veterans and military families to be closed to loved ones during hospitalization for illness, disease, or injury.\u00a0 Bill is providing strategic direction for the organization and will assist in fundraising, in particular for the $3 million capital campaign under way to build a new home for the group and the veterans and families it serves.<\/p>\n Phil Davis<\/b> left the corporate world last year and is now semi-retired. He spent 20 years racking up more than 2 million frequent-flier miles as a management consultant and partner at Towers Watson, a global human resources consulting firm. When he\u2019s not on his skis, he can be found mountain biking near his home in the Ken Caryl valley west of Denver. He tries not to let his new business, Sales Effectiveness Consulting Group LLC, interfere with his lifestyle.<\/p>\n Brian Grossman<\/b> took on a major challenge in March \u2014 the Cape Epic, an endurance mountain bike race that covers 715 kilometers with 48,720 vertical feet of climbing and temperatures of 100 degrees and higher over eight days in South Africa. His time of 55:10.31 put him at No. 473 in the master\u2019s division. Brian is motivated by generating support for the nonprofit he founded, KIDS in the GAME, which provides underprivileged kids access to sports programs. Mike Travers \u201987<\/b> produced a video about the initiative (kidsinthegame.org\/capeepicchallenge<\/a>).<\/p>\n J. Victor (Vic) Peterson<\/b> has joined SmithAdmundsen LLC in its Chicago office. Vic has more than a decade of broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and general corporate law. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Northwestern University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School.<\/p>\n Courtney Kall Parker<\/b> has been accredited by the National Board of Certified Teachers as an early childhood generalist and has achieved master teacher status from the Colorado Department of Education. <\/a>David Crabtree<\/b> has retired from the California Department of Corrections after 15 years as a clinical social worker to focus on his counseling and psychotherapy practice in Fresno, Calif. He continues to enjoy hiking, backpacking, and sailing.<\/p>\n<\/a>Ellen K. O\u2019Brien<\/b> is a partner at Kutak Rock LLP in Denver, a firm that has more than 500 attorneys in 16 offices throughout the country. Ellen represents real estate developers and investors in affordable housing projects, including HOPE VI and other mixed-finance projects. Her practice encompasses structuring and syndicating affordable housing projects with tax-exempt bonds, historic tax credits, state credits, and Low Income Housing Tax Credits.<\/p>\n<\/a>Darcy Henderson<\/b> was elected 2014 president of the Multnomah Athletic Club. She is a freelance photo stylist and native of Portland, Ore. After graduating from Colorado College, Darcy lived in New York and Chicago before returning to Portland in 1993.
