1957<\/b><\/h3>\n

Anne Trostel Galbraith<\/b> wrote an article about her mother, Helen Cogswell Trostel \u201920<\/b>, <\/b>for the summer 2014 issue of the Cheyenne Mountain Kiva<\/i> magazine. Helen was an accomplished artist, art teacher, and writer who continued working until she was past 90. She died at the age of 94 in 1989.<\/p>\n

1959\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/b>Dave Van Metre<\/b> and his wife, Carol Beery Van Metre \u201960<\/b>, were featured in the Omaha World Herald<\/i> newspaper in June. The article called\u00a0the Van Metres \u201clocal sports\u2019 most valuable players\u201d and said they are credited with helping raise $35 million to upgrade parks and athletic facilities in Omaha, outfitting Boys & Girls Clubs, and sprucing up weight and fitness centers. The Van Metres now live in Fort Collins, Colo., where they moved\u00a0to be closer to family.<\/p>\n

1964<\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

\"Bill<\/a>William J. \u201cBill\u201d Hybl<\/b> <\/b>was the guest of honor at the Mizel Institute\u2019s Community Enrichment Award Gala, held May 21 at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Denver. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of El Pomar Foundation, chairman of the U.S. Commission\u00a0on Public Diplomacy, president emeritus of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and a CC trustee.<\/p>\n

1965 <\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Jeff Sauer<\/b>, former Colorado College hockey player and coach, was\u00a0one of four in the 2014 class inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.\u00a0Jeff was profiled in the April 2014 Bulletin<\/i>.<\/p>\n

1968 <\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Doug Brown<\/b> has joined the Buckelew Programs board of directors. Until his retirement in 2011, he worked in the financial services industry for 28 years, most recently at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Buckelew provides emotional and behavioral health and addiction services.<\/p>\n

\"Dr.<\/a>David Williams<\/b>, a Steamboat Springs, Colo., physician, is retiring from Steamboat Medical Clinic, which he co-founded with John Sharp 39 years ago. David moved\u00a0to Steamboat in 1975 with his wife, Holly.<\/p>\n

1969<\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Jane Lubchenco<\/b> has been appointed to the board of directors of The Nature Conservancy. She is a former administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Washington, D.C. She was the ninth person and first woman to hold that position, which also carries the title of undersecretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere.<\/p>\n

\"Nicki<\/a>Nicki Steel<\/b> has been elected to the board of the Vermont Community Loan Fund. The nonprofit creates opportunities that lead to healthy communities and financial stability for Vermont residents by developing and promoting capital-based approaches to issues of poverty and opportunity. Earlier this year, Nicki resigned after 22 years on the Wilmington, Vt., Development Review Board. She also has a photography business, tutors children, and teaches afterschool programs.<\/p>\n

1971<\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Katharine \u201cKat\u201d Bradley-Bennett<\/b> received her master\u2019s in adult education and training from Colorado State University in May.<\/p>\n

1973<\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

\"Joan<\/a>Joan Dobrowolski Urbaniak<\/b> has been named a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. Recognized for leadership in business, she is executive director of the Community Associations Institute-Greater Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Dick Berger<\/b> is a counselor for the Crisis TeleSHARE hotline and referral support program. He is executive director of LIS\u2019N (Living Support Network). He received his Ph.D. from Better Living International in Banff, Alberta, Canada, in 1992, and was named Man of the Year by that organization.<\/p>\n

Rick Zier<\/b> received a master\u2019s degree in history from Colorado State University in May. He is an attorney and is the director of the Zier Law\u00a0Offices in Fort Collins, Colo.<\/p>\n

\"Father<\/a>Henry Doyle<\/b> was named 2014 Citizen of the Year in the Faribault (Minn.) Daily News<\/i>. A history major, he served with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia before becoming an Episcopal priest. He has been chaplain at Shattuck-St. Mary\u2019s School in Faribault for 25 years and has worked with the local prison ministry and on the Red Cross board, and has been involved in many other community activities. He is known for sending nearly 3,000 birthday, holiday, and thank-you cards each year.<\/p>\n

1977<\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Philip M. Genty<\/b>, a Columbia Law School professor, received a Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching at the university\u2019s commencement ceremony May 21. Philip is director of the Prisoners and Families Clinic and the Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison Moot Court Program. He was one of five professors selected to receive the award from more than 500 nominations. He is an expert in prisoners\u2019 rights, family law, clinical education, and legal ethics.<\/p>\n

\"Harris<\/a>Alan Harris<\/b> and his wife, Karen Castleman Harris, shared this photo of their French bulldog, Beau, enjoying southwestern Colorado. Beau also enjoyed spending time in Colorado Springs during the annual Board of Trustees retreat in June. The Harrises live in Dallas, where Alan practices law and serves as an arbitrator and mediator.<\/p>\n

1978 <\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Sydney McNiff Johnson<\/b> has been elected to the board of directors of the American Council on Renewable Energy. She is also ambassador to the Department of Energy for its Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) initiative. Sydney has been involved with energy policy for more than 30 years, beginning with her work on Capitol Hill with Congressman Pete McCloskey (R-Calif.) in 1978 as energy and environmental legislative assistant.
