The CC Office of Alumni Relations will sponsor several new alumni summer programs in Summer 2015.<\/p>\n
The first, \u201cThe Art of the Pitch,\u201d will be a quarter-block class for alumni on July 15-19, 2015, on the CC campus. Innovation Institute Director Patrick Bultema and bestselling novelist\/Colorado College English Professor Steve Hayward will create a hands-on experience that will build your creative concept from the ground up so you can avoid common pitfalls and create a pitch that will cast a spell over the marketplace.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe live in the age of the pitch. Whether it is a start-up or a screenplay, a novel or a new app for the iPhone, there\u2019s nothing more crucial than being able to tell your story in a way that moves and connects with people,\u201d Hayward said.<\/p>\n
The second program, \u201cExploring the Magic of Ghost Ranch,\u201d will be held in Abiquiu, N.M., about a 75-minute drive northwest of Santa Fe. Ghost Ranch will be the site for a weeklong program Aug. 2-7, 2015, that includes Southwest history, geology, nature hikes, water activities on Abiquiu Lake, field trips to painter Georgia O\u2019Keeffe\u2019s house and nearby ruins, and great discussion and camaraderie with other alumni.<\/p>\n
Known for its multi-dimensional beauty and spirituality, the 21,000-acre Ghost Ranch is an education and retreat center; its history includes Native Americans and Spanish, Mexican, French, and Anglo immigrations, and it has hosted visitors and residents such as photographer Ansel Adams, environmentalist Arthur Pack, O\u2019Keeffe, and physicist Robert Oppenheimer.<\/p>\n
Among participating CC faculty, Professor of Physics Shane Burns will be on hand to lead magnificent stargazing made possible by the remote location. A special children\u2019s program will also be offered.<\/p>\n
